CITY GRAIL FINALS AT GRIT'S TUESDAY JULY 30, ALL MEMBERS WELCOME TO ATTEND. Free Draught Beer from OAK ST. BREWERY and Pizza from PeaceLovePizzaNola (Nate from Finn's team) while they last. Congrats to Dick Justin Schuelke on the only Mystery Out from Bronze 2 so far. If none are hit in the Bronze Finals, that's an automatic win. -PLAYOFFS WEEK 1 NEWS: - PLAYOFF SCHEDULE RELEASED. FINAL STANDINGS BELOW. Congrats to all the division winners. - The Week 7 match between Patriot Act & Just the Tip will not be rescheduled with the result being a Patriot forfeit, awarding the Tip 10 pts. - There were lots of close finishes this season, with TWO TIES in Bronze 1 & 2. The NoBullsHit clinched a last minute 1st place position with their 15-4 trouncing of the slightly short Dicks (lol. The Dicks forfeited 2 of their singles before 2-star Justin arrived for doubles). And the Daddies' big Allstar count (28) was the 2nd-tier deciding factor in their decision win over BB When (19) after these teams tied in season points (97) and also in head-to-head wins 19-19. -Off Mike Jaeger got a R9 in one of their matches last week. Aces & Church played a double match to make up for their missed Week 4 matchup. Church swept both, 16-3 & 14-5. Church Scott had a nice night stat-wise going 10-0 with 6 allstars. Another remarkable stat-line (but not so great) was Not Even Close Todd's 5-star but 0-4 night. It's very rare to get shut out when you've hit that many allstars so those must've been some crazy games and exciting to watch. -WEEK 9 NEWS: - Spring awards have arrived! Many have been delivered already but the few remaining boxes will be at your bars by next week. - Week 5's postponement between the Friendlies 13 & Rendon 6 has been successfully rescheduled and played. Congrats to the Rendies on their first win of the season, although we're still waiting on their Week 8 scorecard. -WEEK 8 NEWS: - No scores or status reported for the Week 7 Eggs vs. No Bulls Hit match. Just the Tip vs. Patiot Act! Week 7 is to be rescheduled. *ALL MAKEUP MATCHES MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE JULY 2 (WEEK 10). - LOL-MFERS only had 3 players in their 15-4 loss to the Friendlies but MF Corey Francis got 3 of those, including 2 from his Iron Man 1 vs. 2 DOUBLES CRICKET win over Dez & Ben, wowzers! -Beasties & Brewers also played short in what I'm now calling the Shorthanded Summer of '24. - Ace Louis Trusty the Elder hit a (say it with me in your best British score announcer voice) TON-80! - "New" High Out by FilthyTony Fazzari 120. It was mistakenly recorded as a mere score instead of an out in Week 5, now corrected. - Bronze 2's Week 1 postponement between the two Holy Ground teams was decided by a double-down of their Week 6 match which the undefeated Dicks won 15-4, giving them a two-for-Tuesday 30 point surge in the B2 standings. 1st, 2nd & last seem to be sewn up but that 3rd place spot is still hotly contested between Pipemeisters and Projectiles. - Faber's finally started working on our Spring Plaque & Mug order last week. They say it should be ready sometime this coming week, if the stars align, fingers crossed, maybe? Actually she said they've got the plaques done but are still working on the mugs which are individually laser-etched and apparently time-consuming. Our order went in after the last Grail but their end-of-the-school-year crush always interferes with our Spring order. -WEEK 7 NEWS: - NEW HIGH OUT: Act! Patrick Taplin 109. Two R9s in the same match from Ugly Allen Yrle & Daddy Matt Viator. - LOL:MFERS & Patriot Act! played short with just 3 shooters. - Only one more month of regular season remains. Captains, start counting your players' games to get them Playoff eligible. Everyone needs 15 games minimum (except for the Trash with their mega 16 player roster who only needs 10 since there are only 130 games possible in a 10 week season.) -WEEK 6 NEWS: - LOL MFERS, Just the Tip & Brewers played with 3 but Brewers still won 10-9. - Rendon vs. Friendly Week 5 match postponed - Pop the Cork? The cork is determined by the dart that's closest to bullseye between two darts that are in the board. So if you bounce your cork dart, you keep throwing until one sticks. If you knock out your opponent's cork, even if yours sticks, BOTH players must re-cork, alternating who goes first on every re-cork. -WEEK 5 NEWS: REMINDER, THIS IS THE LAST WEEK TO ADD PLAYERS - LOL MFERS & Milan Eggs played with 3. Rendon had 4. Aces vs. Church Week 4 match was postponed. - Round Ryan McCall and LFG Rett Porciau both snagged a 5B while Frunch Ryan McMahon nabbed a Ton 80 and Bangin' Donnie Wyatt nicked a R9. -WEEK 4 NEWS: - No scores reported from last week's Eggs v. Dicks match. The 3 player Is It In team held their own vs. the Friendlies, getting 8 points but the Omelets absolutely torpedoed the similarly handicapped Buddies 18-1. -Heaux Johnny got a R9. -Basin The Dart Bags have changed their name to Basin No Bulls Hit. -WEEK 3 NEWS: - As usual, Summer season teams are running skeleton crews and playing shorthanded is too common. Success story, with only 3 players, the Dead Eye Dicks beat the Pipemeisters 13-6. However, the Trash beat the 3-man W'uglies but only 10-9. Shortest of all were the MFERS, repped only by Capt. Donnie who, Spartan-like, took on the entire Friendly team by himself. Although incredibly valiant, Rule 4 from Section III: Forfeits A team needs at least two players present to play a match. Friendlies get 10 (pending) instead of the 17-2 pile-on. - Heaux Johnny Vaccarella shot the first R9 of Summer and Festa Ryan Galvin shot the first 180. -CAPTAINS: Inside your packets you will find a sheet listing all the captains' phone #s if you need to contact them for a reschedule request or whatever. - Rule Reminders on Adding Players: - The deadline to add players is Week 5. Gold 1 can add anyone. Other divisions can add new (never played league darts before) but need approval to add anyone who has played before. You must get approval from the Dartsar BEFORE the Tuesday match (not during) or you may be playing an ineligible player(s) and forfeit any games they win. Carry on. - The Bronze 2, Holy Ground, Week 1 matches have been rescheduled. No scores reported from the Bronze 2 Basinites; did they play? Possibly, stay tuned... - Congrats to last season's High Out winner Donny Corkern (118) and My$tery Out Winner$ Ryan Galvin, Mike Rodriguez, Dennis Clutter, Amaretto Dave, Shane Dickson, Brett King & Mark Seiler.
