SCHEDULE RELEASED! - Dead Eyes only played w/ 3 in their loss to the Uglies. Trash & Shaft Happens also played w/ 3. - The Platinum rescheduled Week 7 match between Mick's & High Demand will be played this Tuesday while the rest of Plat is on a Bye week. The Degens have a lock on 2nd place and the Demand can only move from 6th to 5th with 3 or more points. - There was only one tie and the Dartacus won it by one point over the Dartists. The Dartists won 11-8 the first time but the Dartacuses won 12-7 the second. - Is It Wes Landry had a hot hand, notching TWO R9s last week. Ryan Galvin & Donovan Thibodeaux only got one each. -WEEK 10 NEWS: - Only 3 Butts played vs. the Heauxs last week but they still garnered a respectable 5 points vs. the undefeated Homedale Juggernaut. The Mud Bugs were also 3-shooters in their 4-15 loss to the Wheels. - Week 6 match between Brew Tang and Shaft Happens has become a Shaft forfeit, 10 points to the Tang. - Head Oof Dennis Clutter & Heaux Andrew Hammack got our second and third 180s of the Fall season. TABLE BELOW HAS STATS THRU WEEK 9 EXCEPT TEAMS IN WARNING BOX ABOVE: -WEEK 9 NEWS: - Two matches still need to be made up before Week 10, Shaft Happens vs. Beer Tang Clan and High Demand vs. Degens from Upcountry. Start counting your games, only 2 weeks left to qualify for Playoffs, 12 games needed for Bronze 2, 15 for everyone else. - In Silver 2, by just a single point, Homedale Winnin' Ugly did what no other team could and pierced the nigh impregnable armor of the previously unbeaten BB When 10-9, bringing their 7-week winning streak to a screeching halt and removing their coveted "Undefeated" status. -And that leaves the only remaining Undefeated team being the Heauxs who came very close to losing last week in their star-studded, City Grail Finals caliber, triples-deciding 11-8 win over the Upcountry Degens. Check out their card here with all the Allstars, including Josh Woo's 124 out via DB (3 Allstars). Josh has certainly proven his out-taking acumen this season with this latest triple entry bringing his current odds of winning the Platinum Mystery Out $20 to 5 in 13. - PB Barry Bairnsfarther shot a R9. - Week 7 was a "short" week. Grit's Daddy Dart only had 3 players in their respectable 8-11 loss to the division-leading Hitmen. Not to be outdone, Just the Tip played with just two in their 6-13 loss to Not Even Close and while Chris Jones didn't play any 1 vs. 2 doubles, he and fellow Tip Dave Demsey did win their 2 vs. 3 801 triples game against Nots Dickie, Jake & Matt. However, the best of the short-handed matches had to be the Kingpin Bulls***'s narrow but impressive 10-9 win over the Mud Bugs with only 3 players. -WEEK 8 NEWS: Brady Copple's one-week reign as King of High Outs was as short-lived as it gets as a challenger to the crown approacheth with haste! Wielding the mighty Excalibur 126 via DB, Ugly James Gibson the 1st of his name, also from the Silver 2 realm, swiftly deposed the usurper from House Meat Stick and ascended the $40 Throne of Outs. - Week 7 had a few other nice honorable-mention outs like Oofda Ralph Alvarado's 107, Friendly Matt Doherty's 105 and Ending Matt Farah's 90. - No word from the Platinum Mick's vs. High Demand Week 7 match, rescheduled maybe? - And now, an inspirational excerpt from Sun Tzu's lesser known 5th century BC classic "The Dart of War": "The best darter strives to win with dignity and lose with grace. The true Dart Master walks the oche in balance between pride and anger." -WEEK 7 NEWS: - Bronze 2 Week 6 match between Oak St. Brew Tang & Homedale Shaft Happens to be rescheduled. - New High Out by Meat Stick Brady Copple with a 115, replacing Wire Anthony Kolesa's 102. - Act! Russell Spansel, Bulls*** Brett King & Highest Tony Fazzarri shot Rounds of Nine(s). - Hitman Capt. Gene reminded me that I should mention how his Hitmen big-time avenged their humiliating Week One 7-12 loss to the short-handed 3-player Just the Tip team by crushing the once again short-handed J-Tips 18-1 in their second meeting...because it's PAYBACK TIME MOTHERDARTERS! As you might've guessed, Chris "Handi-captain" Jones wasn't one of the three this time. -WEEK 6 NEWS: - Holy Ground Dead Eye Dicks played w/ just 3 last week in their loss to Winnin' Ugly. - Halfway through the season and three undefeated teams remain: Homedale Heauxs, 45 Tchop Omelets & Basin BB When. - After 4 weeks of scorecard reporting perfection, Week 5 saw the first mass casualties as five teams entered the dreaded PENALTY BOX. Only the Starving Dartists took advantage of their WARNING BOX appearance and sent their Week 4 card in during the one week grace period. -WEEK 5 NEWS: LAST WEEK TO ADD PLAYERS - Heaux Bobby Buuck got a R9 shotglass. Oofda Shaylyn Broussard got 5 Bulls. Geeser Al Kreppein got both a R9 and a 180! -WEEK 4 NEWS: - Week 3 happened last week. -WEEK 3 NEWS: - In your packets you'll find a COLOR SHEET with a SCHEDULE & the VERY IMPORTANT CAPTAINS' CONTACT LIST. Use this whenever you need to CONTACT a CAPTAIN for something unexpected like the match-move above. Only Bronze 1 packets got the revised schedule with the Roosevelt added to it, so be aware of that though it shouldn't affect you if rely on the online schedule. Also inside there is the usual too-bright laser pen and a lagniappe item: an aluminum chalk-holder that's better than the previous plastic ones. They work best with a longer piece of chalk but I broke up the few pieces I had to put a little in each one (40) so you'd know what they were for.. - Not Matt Meyers got a R9 and even more impressive (at least to me) was his prompt scorecard lol. -WEEK 2 NEWS: - Welcome to the 75th season of the ODC: We have 41 teams this Fall with some newcomers and old vets returning for more blistering dart fury. We lost two top tier teams (MDMA & Funkadelic) and gained a couple Bronzers (Rambler & Roosevelt) so most teams will notice an upward shift in their placement as these new low teams have flooded Bronze and pushed the other teams up to fill the 2 unexpected absences at the top. - This Tuesday I had the pleasure of playing the 11th hour team (who zoomed in with a roster at the last minute to fill a bye in Bronze 1) at our newest bar, the posh and ultra-swanky Roosevelt Hotel Bar downtown. Hubba hubba! My first visit there was both a dartboard inspection and Week 1 match and it was clear their new dart area had been hastily set up (I was scoring when the board literally fell off the wall as the third dart stuck in the 13 to score 39 pts. in Triples Cricket!). However, the space has great potential and the owner is committed to improving it. She and the rest of the team welcomed us warmly, are excited to join ODC and clearly our kind of good dart people. They play the next 2 weeks away so everything should be tip-top by their next Week 4 home match vs. Evangeline. - Look out, the Gamblers are back! Yes, it's true, the Rambler has made good on its threats and returned to ODC with no apologies or excuses (none needed, really). Another notable return is longtime Get to the Tchopper and 21 season veteran Ray Wiltshire who the Hoppy Endings have recruited to join them at Oak St. Brewery, forcing him into hard labor immediately with a Week 1 five-game workload like he was the RB backup for Christian "Glass-Legs" McCaffrey. - And we have a good start to the Mystery Out race with Week 1 entries in all the divisions except Bronze, but the real story this week is Half Moon's 3-player 12-7 victory over the Silver Grailholders Parlay's Hitmen. Just Captain Chris Jones once again won his 1 vs. 2 501 game over reigning S2 MVP Clee & just regular Zeke with a 105 and a 97 Out. Piyow! This guy lives for these handicap matches, I think he PREFERS them, he gets off going 5-1 in one night and without a doubt Chris Jones has more Iron Man wins than anyone else in ODC history (yeah, they play short-rostered a LOT). We've never kept track of these type of wins but I'm sure he has 10 or more by my blurry memory banks. Anyway, with all the stars and upsets and blank roster spots, I thought it was a very unusual card and I thought this might be a cool feature to add, if I keep up with it or not is another question. Feast your eyes on this one: - SUMMER $$$ WINNERS: email Tom with your preferred payment method, PayPay, Venmo, cash or check. HIGH OUT: Geeser John Langridge wins $40 for his $139 High Out. This friggin' ADO rep scoots into ODC and raids the cash drawer in his very first season. With a start like that, we can only expect more to come. MYSTERY OUT WINNERS: Chad Schomaker 70, Al Kreppein 89, Tom Haggerty 72, Treis Aucoin 74, Thomas Sanderson 72, Chris Daugherty 99 & Isabelle Brown 87. Congrats! ************************************************************************************************************** -WEEK 1 NEWS: - Rule Reminders on Adding Players: The deadline to add players is Week 5. The top division can add anyone. Other divisions can add "new" (never played league darts before) but need approval to add anyone who has played league before. You must get approval from the Dartsar BEFORE the Tuesday match (not during) or you may be playing an ineligible player(s) and forfeit any games they win. Carry on. - Each week, someone on your team should check the Warning Box above to help you avoid penalties. Also check the scores and stats because every season a few errors crop up among the 3-4 thousand data entries and YOU are the only proofreader.
